The Bishop’s Syndicate that never prevailed.

In this climate of suspicion stands Archbishop Andrew Nkea. Many Ambazonians—especially those directly displaced or brutalized by the conflict—feel that his public posture has too often aligned with narratives that minimize LRC’s responsibility.

A Crisis of Trust in the Liberation Space

The arrest of Ayaba Cho Lucas by the Norwegian criminal police (Kripos) sent a shockwave through networks that had long operated in the shadows of the Ambazonian liberation space. For years, many Ambazonians have raised concerns about certain actors whose actions consistently—whether intentionally or not—align with the strategic interests of La République du Cameroun (LRC). The fear within the ADF and its political wing was simple: international investigators, working independently, might finally uncover the internal operations, alliances, and compromises that many on the ground have suspected for years.

Patterns of Alignment That Raise Questions

It is no secret that some figures in the Ambazonian struggle have, at different moments, been associated with actions, statements, or patterns that fuel doubts about their true alignments. Whether it is the sudden silence on key atrocities, selective outrage, or ambiguous relationships with officials inside LRC’s security structures, these inconsistencies have led many Ambazonians to question motives and loyalties.

The Church and the Perception of Partiality

In this climate of suspicion stands Archbishop Andrew Nkea. Many Ambazonians—especially those directly displaced or brutalized by the conflict—feel that his public posture has too often aligned with narratives that minimize LRC’s responsibility. While the Church is expected to be neutral, neutrality becomes questionable when statements or interventions repeatedly appear to support the position of the dominant aggressor.

The Rise and Rebranding of Covert Militia Groups

The emergence of groups that rebrand themselves—most recently as the so-called “unity palace warriors”—has deepened these concerns. Regardless of the name, their attacks overwhelmingly target Ambazonian communities, activists, clergy, and institutions. They have never been known to confront LRC’s regular forces in any meaningful way. This has strengthened the widely held belief that they operate as a covert militia serving interests in Yaoundé, tasked with discrediting genuine liberation movements through chaos, kidnappings, and internal sabotage.

Strategic Sabotage and the Push for ‘All-Inclusive Dialogue’

What troubles many observers is the perception of convergence: certain individuals and groups consistently appear on the same side of outcomes—outcomes that favor LRC’s narrative. Whether coordinated or not, the result is similar: delegitimizing Ambazonian self-defense structures and inserting compromised actors into the political process under the banner of “all-inclusive dialogue.”

The Ndop Abductions and Public Suspicion

It is in this atmosphere that allegations surfaced regarding possible complicity in the abduction of priests in the Ndop area. Though no publicly verified evidence establishes direct responsibility, the mistrust is real. The people have witnessed too many patterns, too many coincidences, and too many cases where wrongdoers benefit when chaos strikes Ambazonia.

Moral Authority Requires Accountability

What remains clear is simple: any individual or institution that consistently undermines legitimate Ambazonian aspirations—whether from the pulpit, the political arena, or the bush—cannot claim moral authority. The people have become wiser. They understand the difference between genuine liberation and calculated manipulation.

History Will Judge the Syndicate

The Ambazonian people expect transparency, courage, and integrity from all actors in this time of war. They reject sabotage, double-speak, and alliances that strengthen the oppressor. Whether in cassock or camouflage, those whose actions weaken Ambazonia’s collective struggle will ultimately be judged by the people and by history. The syndicate of confusion will not prevail. The resolve of Ambazonia remains firm.
