Letters to the Editor

Barrister Timothy Mbeseha, a patriotic Ambazonian and fervent reader of the Independentist, writes to the editorial team on Millan Atam’s opinion.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Sir,

I think Milan needs to be reminded that SCACUF and the Governing Council were realities of 2017. Their fate was sealed on October 30th, 2017 with the creation of the Interim Government. The Interim Government has since matured into a full-fledged AMBAZONIA Government-in-Exile.

The very idea of an Ambazonian Government is what scares Yaoundé the most. For close to eight years, the principle of government has been accepted, consolidated, and improved upon. Any right-thinking Ambazonian must align with the Government of AMBAZONIA in exile or risk remaining in a permanent state of limbo.

Liberation struggles are forward-looking. We do not advance by looking backward or recycling outdated institutional concepts. Yes, it is true that we have had internal challenges — every revolutionary struggle in history has. Ours is not perfect. Perfection has never been the measure.

But any suggestion that we abandon the idea and existence of the Southern Cameroons (Ambazonia) Government-in-Exile is not just unwise — it is suicidal.

Respectfully submitted,
Timothy Mbeseha
