Open Letter to Mr. Franck Emmanuel Biya, By Jean Claude Mbede Fouda (A Concerned Citizen of French Cameroon)

Subject: Your Family’s Dynasty Has Become a Danger to Cameroon — And You Must Not Drag Ambazonia Down With it.

Mr. Franck Emmanuel Biya,

I write to you as a son of French Cameroon, as someone who has watched my country sink into moral decay, political paralysis, and violence under the dynasty your family has imposed for over forty years. I speak today not for Ambazonia, which is a separate, sovereign people with their own political destiny. I speak for my own country, French Cameroon — a nation now being suffocated by a ruling clan that refuses to accept reality, refuses accountability, and refuses to release its dying hold on power.

Let us begin with the truth: Paul Biya no longer governs Cameroon. You do. Not by election, not by competence, but by the quiet corruption of family entitlement. And what you and your circle have done with that power is nothing short of destructive.

THE REGIME THAT RULES THROUGH A CORPSE

Your father is ninety-three years old. His physical and cognitive incapacity is not a secret. Cameroonians know it. Diplomats know it. The world knows it. Yet you insist on using him as a political corpse to give legitimacy to decisions made by you, the First Lady, Mr. Ngoh Ngoh, and Mr. Mvondo Ayolo. What you call “continuity” is, in truth: elder abuse, constitutional fraud, and the hijacking of state authority by a private family cartel. You are not preserving stability. You are preserving access — to contracts, to influence, to wealth, to absolute power.

THE BLOOD OF OCTOBER 12 IS ON YOUR HANDS

I say this openly: The violence that followed the October 12 election has the signature of a regime that knows it has lost the people, and knows it has lost legitimacy. Hundreds are dead. Families are missing their sons. The North, West, and occupied Ambazonian zones have become killing fields. You cannot hide behind: silence, denials, or the old man whose name you still use to command the security apparatus. If these allegations are false, you must say so publicly. If they are true, then you, Mr. Franck Biya, are already standing in the doorway of the International Criminal Court.

DO NOT DRAG AMBAZONIA INTO CAMEROON’S COLLAPSE

As a French Cameroonian citizen, I say this clearly: aAmbazonia is not part of our political crisis. Ambazonia is not two regions of Cameroon.
Ambazonia is a separate nation under disputed occupation. Whatever your ambitions are — succession, continuity, power transfer, manipulation of your father — Ambazonians are not your political cover.

Their struggle is separate. Their destiny is separate. Their sovereignty is protected by international law and by UNGA Resolution 1608 (XV). Your family’s collapse in Yaoundé must not become another excuse to spill blood in West Cameroon.

YOU HAVE BECOME A THREAT TO TWO NATIONS

Cameroon is imploding under your shadow rule. Ambazonia refuses to collapse with you. French Cameroon citizens refuse to be passengers in a dynasty that has lost control of itself. The dynasty that was built in 1982 is dying in 2025 — and only you refuse to admit it. You are now the symbol of: constitutional decay, political illegitimacy and state capture by a family ring. This is no longer politics.
It is a national emergency.

THE CHOICE BEFORE YOU — AND THE CONSEQUENCES YOU CANNOT ESCAPE

You now face an unavoidable crossroads: Either distance yourself from the violence and accept the verdict of the people, or follow the same path as the sons of collapsed regimes who thought power would last forever. Look at: Gabon, Gambia, Burkina Faso, Sudan. Every end of a dynasty begins with denial from the ruling family. Every accountability process begins with the arrest of those closest to the throne. The world no longer ignores: succession fraud, electoral theft, massacre of protesters, and governance through an incapacitated president. Your name is already on lists being prepared for international submission.

YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE TIME

If you still have a sense of responsibility — to your father, to the truth, or to your own safety — then act now: Stop the killings. Release detainees. End the repression. Acknowledge that the people rejected the dynasty. And above all: Do not extend your family’s disaster into Ambazonia. They are not part of your fall, and they will not be your shield.

When the reckoning comes — and it will — you will answer for your role in the collapse of Cameroon. History is watching. The world is watching. French Cameroon is watching. Ambazonia is watching. And justice is coming.

Respectfully,
Jean Claude Mbede Fouda
