The global struggle for human dignity has lost one of its most resonant voices. On behalf of the Government and the people of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia, we extend our deepest revolutionary tributes to the family of Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sr., who transitioned to the ancestors on February 17, 2026.

Reverend Jackson was not merely an American icon; he was a global architect of Pan-African solidarity. At moments when the world often stood silent, he raised his voice as an advocate for democracy, human rights, and dignity across Africa and the diaspora. He understood that the liberation of people of African descent everywhere was inseparable from the right of all nations to self-determination.

Many across the world also remember his powerful engagement with young people and students. During a visit to Penn State University in 1985, shortly after emerging as a presidential candidate for the Democratic nomination, he spoke passionately about the Black experience, dignity, and equal opportunity. His presence electrified the campus community and inspired many international students and members of the African diaspora who saw in his journey proof that moral courage and political participation could reshape history.

To us in Ambazonia, presently fighting for our existence and fundamental human rights, his life stands as a blueprint for resistance rooted in hope and moral courage. He taught the world that hope itself is a powerful instrument of struggle and that the right of a people to exist cannot be revoked by oppression. He did not simply demand a seat at the table; he worked to dismantle the barriers that kept marginalized communities in the shadows.

As part of our tribute, the Government of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia also extends its condolences to the distinguished leaders of the coalition and organizations that worked alongside him, acknowledging that Reverend Jackson’s life was a masterclass in the diplomacy of the oppressed. His historic role as Special Envoy to Africa helped strengthen the bridge between the African continent and its diaspora. For the people of Ambazonia—who continue to endure a grave human rights crisis in pursuit of self-determination—the Reverend became a quiet source of resilience and inspiration.

As those who worked with him move forward in his absence, we affirm that his enduring call to “Keep Hope Alive” resonates far beyond America. It echoes in communities struggling for dignity and justice across the world. We stand ready to honor his legacy by continuing to advocate for a world where freedom, justice, and human recognition are not privileges, but universal rights.

Reverend Jackson, your call to “Keep Hope Alive” now echoes across the Gulf of Guinea, sustaining the resolve of a people determined to live in freedom and dignity.

Your earthly work is complete, but the struggle you championed continues through those who believe in justice, equality, and the shared destiny of humanity.
