Ndu’s Blood and Yaoundé’s Lie: A Counter-Statement on the Gidado Incident

Cameroonian troops, gendarmes, and regime-aligned militias operate there daily. So the first question any honest authority must answer is: Who controlled Gidado on Wednesday morning? If the regime was in control and civilians were massacred, then this is: either a failure of protection or complicity Blaming Ambazonia without investigation is an attempt to hide command responsibility.

NDU – January 14th 2026- The people of Gidado, Mbandfung have suffered a terrible tragedy. Civilians—men, women, and children—have died. Their lives mattered. Their pain is real. Their grief is sacred. But what the Mayor of Ndu has issued today is not a humanitarian statement. It is a political weapon.

Under the letterhead of the Republic of Cameroon, a regime that has burned hundreds of villages, displaced more than a million Southern Cameroonians, and turned the Northwest and Southwest into killing fields, the Mayor has chosen not to mourn—but to accuse, not to investigate—but to sentence, not to seek peace—but to manufacture war. This is not leadership. This is narrative warfare.

One — No investigation. Only a verdict

The Mayor declares, without evidence, without forensic inquiry, without witnesses presented, that: “Ambazonia terrorists” carried out the killings. This is not justice. This is propaganda. In any lawful society, when civilians die, the first duty of an authority is to establish facts: Who controlled the area, Which armed groups were present, Were security forces deployed, Were there clashes before the killings? The Mayor answers none of these. Instead, he delivers a pre-written enemy. That is not how truth is found. That is how collective punishment is prepared.

Two — The Fulani people are being used as political shields

The Fulani of Ndu are not enemies of Ambazonia.
They are human beings with the same right to life, dignity, and security as any other community. But Yaoundé has turned the Fulani into a political shield. Why? Because Fulani communities in this region are: armed through regime-aligned militias, embedded into Cameroon’s counter-insurgency architecture, used as demographic and territorial anchors

When violence touches these communities, Yaoundé weaponizes their suffering to: justify military sweeps, smear the liberation movement, present the war as “tribal chaos” instead of foreign occupation. This is a classic colonial tactic: Turn one African community into the alibi for crushing another.

Three — The genocide inversion

The most cynical line in the Mayor’s statement is this: “A genocide against the Fulani is an attack against humanity.” Let us be clear. Cameroon is currently on trial in the court of history for: mass killings, village burnings, rape campaigns, forced displacement, ethnic targeting. The regime is not suddenly discovering human rights. It is trying to invert the accusation. This is a legal maneuver: If everyone is guilty, then no one is responsible.

Four — Where were the Cameroonian forces

Ndu is a militarized zone.

Five — What the Mayor is really asking for

When the Mayor calls for a “paradigm shift in peace efforts,” this is not dialogue. In counter-insurgency language, it means: collective punishment, village raids, population displacement, militarized reprisals This is how massacres are followed by bigger massacres.

Our position

The Independentistnews stands for:every civilian life, every community, every victim. Fulani lives matter., Southern Cameroonian lives matter.
Human lives matter. But truth matters too. And the truth is this:

The Republic of Cameroon is using the blood of Fulani civilians to wage information war against a people fighting for self-determination. That is immoral. That is criminal. That is how genocides are disguised. We demand: an independent investigation . international observers forensic accountability, protection for all civilians. Not press releases written to justify the next round of killing.
