Issa Tchiroma — In Service of the French, on Mission to Ambazonia

Issa chiroma Bakary “We will do everything — even if it means losing lives — to stop Ambazonians from going their separate way.”

The Independentist Exposé Series — Part I

Issa Tchiroma Bakary is no stranger to controversy. Today he presents himself as a statesman, a survivor, a man of reason calling for “dialogue.” But behind this façade lies the truth of a man who chose betrayal when his people most needed courage.

In 1984, after the failed coup attempt against Paul Biya, Tchiroma was among those who tasted the iron of prison. He saw with his own eyes how the Biya regime massacred tens of thousands of northerners, crushing dissent with brutality and blood. For many, that chapter should have been a rallying point for resistance against a dictator and his French patrons.

But not for Tchiroma. He was “redeemed” by the very regime that slaughtered his kin. In exchange for survival and rehabilitation, he made an unholy pact: to dedicate his life to defending Paul Biya’s tyranny. From that moment, his political path became the path of servitude.

Tchiroma would later rise through Yaoundé’s ranks — serving as Minister of Transport, Minister of Communication, and Government Spokesman. In each position, his voice became an echo of Biya’s propaganda machine. He distorted the truth, covered up atrocities, and spat venom at Ambazonians fighting for survival.

Who can forget his chilling declaration: “We will do everything — even if it means losing lives — to stop Ambazonians from going their separate way.” That morbid sentence, spoken without remorse, is etched forever in our memory. It revealed the true depth of his disdain, not only for Ambazonians but for the very principle of freedom.

And yet today, Tchiroma wishes to reappear dressed in new robes, pretending to be a man of reason, pretending that he speaks of peace. But we know better. His journey from prisoner to minister to propaganda mouthpiece is the story of a man who sold his people’s dignity for a seat at the table of oppression.

Ambazonians must not forget this history. Betrayal begins with compromise, and compromise with tyranny always ends in servitude.

Message to Tchiroma: Ambazonia is not your terrain. Take your deception to the campaign trail, where the northern backlash awaits you.

Ambazonians, beware: This is not dialogue. This is French infiltration.
