Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
Thank you for the informative and educative article titled “The Price Of Power: How Akere Muna Pledges Ambazonian Wealth to Yaoundé”,
The article highlights much about Barrister Akere Muna being a nice person. That is unarguably true. However, when it comes to his father, the writer incorrectly stated that he was a Speaker of the West Cameroon House of Assembly.
Let’s go back to the blackboard with chalk. The fact is that Solomon Tandeng Muna was an illegal Prime Minister of West Cameroon from 1968 to 1972. In 1970, Solomon Tandeng Muna was deviously appointed Vice President of the so-called “Federal Republic of Cameroon,” to replace John Ngu Foncha.
When this “Federal Republic of Cameroon” was dissolved and replaced with the “United Republic of Cameroon” through the fake and illegal referendum dubbed the “Peaceful Revolution of 20th May 1972,” Hon. Solomon Tandeng Muna was appointed the pioneer Speaker of the lone “National Assembly.” By virtue of the new constitution of the “United Republic of Cameroon,” he became the constitutional successor to Ahmadou Ahidjo.
Hence, Solomon Tandeng Muna became the number two citizen of the “United Republic of Cameroon” and the designated constitutional successor to Ahmadou Ahidjo. His tenure ended in 1979, when the Prime Minister at the time, Paul Biya, assumed the role of number two citizen. That is why Paul Biya eventually took over from Ahmadou Ahidjo on November 6th, 1982.
