Dear,

MR. ERIC CHINJE AND BARRISTER NDOKI MICHELLE

I watched a segment and was deeply disappointed by the views expressed by you two, Mr. Eric Chinje and Barrister Ndoki. Southern Cameroons–Ambazonia has a distinct historical and political identity. Our people’s aspirations should not be reduced to an internal political dispute within La République du Cameroun.

My questions to both of you are straightforward:

If Southern Cameroons and La République du Cameroun constitute one indivisible country, how do you reconcile that position with the military campaign launched under President Paul Biya against the people he claims to be his fellow citizens? How do you account for our distinct judicial and educational traditions, institutions, and political history?

The historical record deserves serious attention. Southern Cameroons had its own House of Chiefs, House of Assembly, and government before the 1961 federation. Subsequently, the federated state of West Cameroon had three successive prime ministers:

John Ngu Foncha: October 1, 1961–May 13, 1965.

Augustine Ngom Jua: May 13, 1965–January 11, 1968.

Solomon Tandeng Muna: January 11, 1968–June 2, 1972.

These institutions and leaders form part of a political history that cannot be dismissed by simply invoking national indivisibility.

Brother Larry Ayong has raised the question of the absence of a treaty of union between Southern Cameroons and La République du Cameroun. That claim deserves careful examination of the historical documents, constitutional arrangements, and applicable international law. It calls for a substantive response.

We must continue to seek clarity about the circumstances surrounding the 1961 union, the commitments made to our people, and the subsequent dismantling of the federal arrangement. The roles of Britain, France, and the United Nations also deserve scrutiny.

Mr. Chinje and Barrister Ndoki, any serious discussion of this conflict must address the identity, dignity, rights, and political aspirations of the people of Southern Cameroons. Our history cannot be erased, and our future cannot be decided without our meaningful participation.

Thank you, Brother Larry Ayong, for speaking up for the identity and aspirations of the people of Ambazonia.

Our identity matters. Our history must be told. Our people must be heard.

Long live the people of Southern Cameroons–Ambazonia!
