Letters to the Editor

Letter to the Editor

Sir/Madam,

Ambazonians are united by a single goal: the freedom and dignity of our nation. Yet today, our struggle is being weakened from within by the destructive rise of tribal politics and factional loyalty.

French Cameroon has long relied on a strategy of “divide and rule.” When force failed to break the Ambazonian resistance, they shifted to a quieter but more harmful method: turning Ambazonians against each other, fueling suspicion, and encouraging support based not on principles but on tribal belonging.

We must recognize this danger clearly. A liberation movement cannot succeed if people choose leaders based on birthplace instead of integrity. Ambazonia’s Constitution defines a nation of 13 Federated States, each equal in dignity and responsibility. No community is superior. No village is entitled to rule others.

Debate is healthy. Diversity is a strength. But when disagreement becomes tribal mobilization or personal worship of individual leaders, the occupier wins without lifting a finger.

Before we take any political decision, every Ambazonian should ask a simple question: Does this action bring us closer to independence or deepen division?

If it deepens division, let us reject it immediately. Our widows, refugees, and prisoners are not sacrificing their lives for tribal flags. They are suffering because they believe in a future where opportunity, justice, and security belong to all — not just to one group.

History will judge us not only by the enemies we fought but by how we treated each other while fighting them. Let us stand together as one people. Let us refuse to be divided. Ambazonia will rise — but only if Ambazonians rise together.

Respectfully,
Uchiba Nelson
