It is not everyone who loudly proclaims “Ambazonia Must Be Free” who genuinely works for Ambazonia’s freedom.
The Independentist series on betrayals
This is the third in our series, and as mentioned previously, the goal is to ensure that all Ambazonians understand that there are traitors and infiltrators among us, working diligently to undermine our collective efforts. We must recognize that each time the Federal Government of Ambazonia makes progress, these individuals—often acting on the advice or instruction of La République du Cameroun (LRC)—work to drag us backwards.
A few Ambazonians have, at times, fallen into their traps unknowingly. Perhaps, in their honesty, these individuals believe that everyone is working toward the same goal of freedom. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Some actively work against our liberation.
It is therefore essential to keep forwarding these messages to others, encouraging them to share as well, so that those who are uninformed become aware and empowered. As this series progresses, everyone will gradually understand how traitors and infiltrators operate.
Today, let us focus on infiltrators.
Understanding Infiltration
Infiltration is morally wrong and is therefore usually carried out covertly. It involves the secret placement of loyal agents within an organization — whether a political party, movement, or institution — by an opposing force, without the knowledge or consent of the organization’s leadership.
The goal of infiltration is to influence and weaken the target organization from within. An infiltrator seeks to shape leadership choices, influence strategic direction, manipulate decision-making, and collect intelligence for the opponent.
Their activities often include creating internal conflicts, sowing mistrust, spreading ideologies that are inconsistent with the organization’s mission, or manipulating internal processes. An infiltrator may also interfere with elections, influence candidate selection, or affect voting outcomes in order to benefit the opposing side.
Common Methods of Infiltrators
The typical strategies used by infiltrators include:
Capturing leadership by ensuring loyal agents are elected or appointed to key positions.
Pushing for alliances that ultimately serve the opponent’s interests rather than the movement’s.
Propaganda and misinformation, deliberately spreading misleading or distorted information to confuse members and the wider public.
Infiltration in the Ambazonian Struggle
The struggle to liberate Ambazonia from the illegal occupation by the Republic of Cameroun has not been exempt from infiltration. When we reflect carefully, we can recognize that the methods described above have occurred — and continue to occur — within our ranks.
This is why vigilance is essential. Every Ambazonian must learn to identify traitors and infiltrators, so they cannot derail our efforts or divert us from our shared objective.
It is not everyone who loudly proclaims “Ambazonia Must Be Free” who genuinely works for Ambazonia’s freedom.
