The French Plot Against Ambazonia: What Thierry Breton’s Words Reveal About France’s Real Agenda in Bamenda.

A recent statement by former French Minister of the Economy, Thierry Breton, has shaken many across Africa. Speaking with brutal honesty, Breton declared:
“It is Emmanuel Macron’s stupidity that opened the eyes of Africans. One thing is certain: if France loses its colonies, our children and grandchildren will go to Africa in search of livelihoods. Immigration will reverse direction. Africa has no history and therefore cannot lead the world.”
These words are not just offensive—they are revealing. They expose a deep fear within France: that its centuries-old system of domination in Africa is falling apart. And for Ambazonians, this statement should be a call to attention, because what France fears most is already happening—right here in Bamenda.
The French Ambassador’s Peace Game in Bamenda
Over the past year, the French Ambassador to Cameroon has made Bamenda one of his favorite destinations. His visits to the Alliance Française are dressed up as cultural exchange. His meetings with handpicked local elites are framed as “dialogue.” He speaks of peace, reconciliation, and unity. But behind the smiles and handshakes lies a darker truth.
While the Ambassador claims to promote peace, military activity in Bamenda is rising. Soldiers are more visible. The city is becoming a garrison town. And France, which supplies weapons, training, and strategic support to the Yaoundé regime, is at the center of it all.
The contradiction is clear: France talks about peace but is helping to fuel the war.
Why the Alliance Française Is Not What It Seems
Let’s be clear: the Alliance Française is not just a language school. It is part of France’s strategy to keep control over the minds of the next generation. Thierry Breton said that “Africa has no history.” That’s not just an insult—it’s a tactic.
When they erase our history, they erase our right to self-determination. When they call us “minorities,” they justify their control. The Alliance Française, like the mission schools of old, is where that erasure happens—in subtle and soft-spoken ways.
In reality, it is a colonial outpost, not a cultural center.
The Real Fear in Paris: A Free and United Africa
Breton’s panic is not just about Ambazonia. He mentioned Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso—countries that have broken free from French control and are charting new paths. He warned that if one “putschist” falls, the others will abandon this “new African vision.”
But he got it backwards. If even one African nation stands strong, others will rise. That is the domino effect France truly fears.
France does not want another Mali. It does not want a free Ambazonia. Because a sovereign Ambazonia would prove that French colonialism can be defeated—by unity, vision, and courage.
What Must Be Done Now
Ambazonia cannot afford to treat this as politics as usual. This is not just diplomacy—it is a war for our future. Here is what our government and people must urgently do:
The Ambazonian government must officially denounce Thierry Breton’s racist and colonial remarks and call out the French Ambassador’s double game in Bamenda.
French institutions like Alliance Française should be removed from any Ambazonian-controlled zones. NGOs tied to French policy should be thoroughly vetted or banned.
We must use satellite images, human rights reports, and local testimony to expose the growing military buildup in Bamenda. The world must see that “peace” is being used to hide occupation.
Launch a national campaign: “Ambazonia Has a History.” From our precolonial civilizations to our betrayal in 1961, we must reclaim our story—through schools, media, and public conversation.
Now is the time to strengthen ties with Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. Together, we can form a new African alliance against neocolonialism, and for true sovereignty.
The Moment of Decision
Thierry Breton warned: “If one putschist falls, the others will abandon this vision.”
Let us answer him: “Even if one rises, the rest will follow.”
Ambazonia’s fight is not just about borders. It is about dignity, memory, and identity. France fears Ambazonia not because of our weapons—but because of what we represent: the end of empire.
The French Ambassador is not in Bamenda to promote peace. He is there to buy time. But time is no longer on France’s side.
Ambazonians, we are no longer waiting for history to be written for us. We are writing it—on our own terms, in our own voice, from the heart of Buea to the hills of Bamenda.
