Strategic Communication Brief – Ambazonian Security and Intelligence Department.

Recent intelligence suggests that agents of the Cameroonian state have resumed efforts to buy off Ambazonian fighters. Offers of money, promises of immunity, and false assurances of future integration have been reported in several counties.

LET THE GUNNERS KNOW

Over the past few years, intelligence reports and field accounts have revealed a coordinated strategy by the Republic of Cameroon, working with internal collaborators, to weaken the Ambazonian armed resistance through infiltration, disinformation, and bribery. When direct military confrontation failed to crush the Ambazonian Restoration Forces, the regime turned to covert tactics.

Infiltration Through Proxy Armed Groups

According to security briefings, agents linked to Yaoundé began approaching Ambazonian fighters with financial incentives to abandon the liberation struggle. This buy-off strategy emerged after the combined forces of the Cameroonian army and aligned militias proved unable to contain the Restoration Forces’ growing effectiveness on the ground.

One group in particular, the Ambazonia Defence Forces, has been repeatedly accused by field commanders and diaspora analysts of collaborating with Cameroonian security structures. Activist networks allege that senior ADF figures maintained contacts with Colonel Emile Bamkoui, a key figure in Yaoundé’s intelligence apparatus.

ADF has been blamed for a series of incidents including attacks on loyal Ambazonian fighters, kidnappings for ransom, and acts of brutality against civilians, which, according to multiple diaspora sources, were designed to discredit the Ambazonian cause internationally by portraying Ambazonian forces as terrorists.

The strategy sought to ensure that the international community would associate Ambazonia with lawlessness and terrorism, thereby undermining diplomatic support. This narrative, however, has not gained the traction Yaoundé intended.

The Ayaba Cho Lucas Episode

The situation escalated when Ayaba Cho Lucas, leader of the ADF’s political wing, was arrested by Norwegian Criminal Police. Diaspora security sources claim that authorities gained access to communications allegedly revealing coordination between ADF leadership and actors hostile to Ambazonia’s independence efforts. Although legal proceedings are still unfolding, the episode intensified scrutiny of ADF’s role in the conflict and reinforced longstanding suspicions of collaboration with Cameroonian forces.

In the wake of Ayaba’s arrest, ADF has reportedly attempted to rebrand itself under new names such as unity warriors or unity forces, a move many observers interpret as an effort to evade future accountability mechanisms such as investigations by the International Criminal Court. Ambazonian officials have stated their intention to cooperate with international justice institutions to ensure that individuals and groups involved in atrocities face appropriate legal consequences.

Renewed Buy-Off Attempts

Recent intelligence suggests that agents of the Cameroonian state have resumed efforts to buy off Ambazonian fighters. Offers of money, promises of immunity, and false assurances of future integration have been reported in several counties.

This message is directed to those who once accepted such offers and those who may be targeted in the future:
Bribes offered by an occupying power are not acts of reconciliation, but calculated moves to neutralize the resistance from within.
Those who abandon the cause risk both legal prosecution by the regime itself, as confirmed by recent statements from Issa Tchiroma who vowed to try anyone with blood on their hands, and the moral judgment of their nation.

One Army, One Government

The Ambazonian Government has made its position clear:
Only the Ambazonia State Army operates under the authority and protection of the legitimate Government of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia.
ASA’s dual mission is to protect the population and conduct the armed struggle to end the occupation.
Ambazonia has one anthem, one flag, and one President, Dr Samuel Ikome Sako.

Those who collaborate with the enemy, whether through arms, words, or silence, will eventually face legal, historical, and moral accountability. Those who stand firm with ASA and the legitimate government will be honored when Ambazonia celebrates its Heroes’ Day at Bongo Square.

A Strategic Call

Fighters who were previously co-opted are urged to rejoin the national liberation effort while there is still time to do so with honor. Those currently serving are encouraged to report any approaches by regime agents immediately to the appropriate structures.

This is a moment of clarity and loyalty: either stand with the Ambazonian nation or stand against it. History will remember both the defenders and the betrayers.
