OP-ED | The World of Deception and Impunity

A people who have endured nine years of war without meaningful international intervention are not a people who should fear uncertainty. We are a nation in the making, strengthened by adversity and guided by the clarity of our cause.

In a world overwhelmed by political theatre, manipulated narratives, and ever-shifting online propaganda, Ambazonians must resist the temptation to react impulsively to every headline or social-media claim. The noise surrounding succession politics in La République du Cameroun — whether involving Paul Biya, Issa Tchiroma, or any other figure — has created confusion, excitement, and unnecessary speculation.

But let us be clear: Ambazonia’s destiny has never been tied to the internal politics of Cameroun.
Our struggle is not about who occupies the presidential palace in Yaoundé. Our struggle is about our right to self-determination, a right grounded in history, international law, and the lived experience of our people.

For nearly a decade, since the declaration of war on November 30th, 2017, Ambazonians have endured unimaginable suffering. Entire communities have been displaced. Villages have been burned. Thousands have been killed, imprisoned, or forced into exile. And throughout this tragedy, the global institutions that claim to defend human rights — particularly the United Nations — have remained largely silent.

This silence is not neutral. It is a silence that sustains impunity. It is a silence that emboldens aggressors. We live in a world where corruption is normalised, where powerful nations pursue interests over principles, and where minority populations are routinely sacrificed at the altar of geopolitical convenience. The rich grow richer; the poor grow more vulnerable. Human dignity is too often traded for diplomatic comfort.

And so, questions arise: Where is the conscience of the global community? Where is the moral leadership we are told exists? Where is the commitment to justice and truth?

Ambazonians are not naïve. We understand the world as it is, not as we wish it to be. But even in this imperfect global environment, we must remain anchored in reality and in purpose. The restoration of Ambazonian sovereignty has never depended on outsiders. It has survived because of us — our resilience, our unity, and our refusal to surrender to oppression.

A people who have endured nine years of war without meaningful international intervention are not a people who should fear uncertainty. We are a nation in the making, strengthened by adversity and guided by the clarity of our cause.

As the political winds shift in Yaoundé, let the world know that Ambazonia’s path remains unchanged. We will continue to stand for truth.
We will continue to defend our dignity.
We will continue to insist on justice.

Long live the Federal Republic of Ambazonia.
Long live truth, clarity, and justice in our time.
