In the enduring quest for freedom, few voices have remained as resolute and visionary as that of Dr. Samuel Ikome Sako, President of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia.
For him, sovereignty is not an aspiration—it is a rightful inheritance stolen and now being reclaimed by a determined people.
His unwavering belief in the independence of Ambazonia is rooted in truth, history, and justice.
And today, Dr. Sako calls on all Ambazonians—regardless of faction or former allegiance—to return home through their Counties and Local Government Areas (LGAs) and prepare for the inevitable negotiations that will seal their destiny.
Sovereignty Is the Starting Point, Not the Destination. Dr. Sako has made it clear that Ambazonia’s sovereignty is non-negotiable.
The path ahead is not one of compromise on nationhood, but of confirmation through international processes.
He draws inspiration from historical figures such as Dr. John Ngu Foncha, who led the Southern Cameroons delegation to the Foumban Conference in 1961.
But unlike Foumban —where the Southern Cameroons were tricked into a one-sided union—this time, Ambazonians will walk to the negotiation table not as junior partners, but as equals demanding disengagement.
“This will be our own Foumban,” Dr. Sako has said. “But we shall not seek a union. We shall affirm a divorce, supervised by the international community and guaranteed by the blood we have shed and the rights we still hold.”
Negotiating Our Exit: A Lucid Path.
In Dr. Sako’s strategic vision, any future meeting with La République du Cameroun (LRC) must be mediated by a neutral third party, preferably the United Nations, with international observers and binding guarantees.
The agenda must be clear:
• Recognition of the sovereignty of Ambazonia;
• Agreement on transitional justice, reparations, and demilitarization;
• The release of political prisoners and restoration of displaced persons;
• Structured withdrawal of foreign administrative and military structures.
The delegation representing Ambazonia must emerge not from factions or political patronage, but from the legitimate federal structure of Counties and LGAs—where the people themselves elect or delegate those who speak for them.
From Fragmentation to Federal Order.
The past few years have seen a proliferation of Ambazonian groups, movements, and personalities—each with passionate claims, each with varying visions.
Dr. Sako acknowledges the contributions of all patriots, but he insists: now is the time for consolidation.
The County-by-County and LGA system is the mechanism through which the dream of Ambazonian self-rule becomes reality.
This federal structure ensures:
• Grassroots accountability;
• Clear lines of command;
• Democratic legitimacy;
• A functioning government capable of administering a post-independence state.
All factions and leaders are therefore urged to return home—not just geographically, but structurally—by joining their Counties and LGAs.
This is how we organize strength. This is how we prevent betrayal. This is how we present one voice to the world.
A Final Word: Unity Is the Strategy. Ambazonia has already paid the price of freedom. Thousands have perished. Entire communities have been erased.
Yet out of this rubble, a nation is rising. Dr. Sako’s voice is not one of division, but of reconciliation with purpose.
His invitation is extended to every leader, activist, soldier, mother, and youth who believes in freedom. Join your County. Join your LGA.
Build the institutions that will carry Ambazonia into its rightful place among the nations of the world.
The time for posturing is over. The time for unity has come.
Just as Foncha once led us to the false dawn of Foumban, so now Dr. Sako leads us to the true sunrise of Buea.
Let us march together, not as factions, but as a united people ready to meet history on our own terms.
