We are home to news on Cameroon and the CEMAC region. We are dedicated to honest and reliable reporting.
We are the voice of the Cameroonian people and their fight for freedom and democracy at a time when the Yaoundé government is silencing dissent and suppressing democratic voices.
Macron still dreams of rebuilding Gaullist grandeur. Africa has already woken up. France cannot resurrect an empire that Africa has buried. Britain survived its fall because it respected the human person. France will not survive because it respects only the state. The empire is dead, but Macron refuses to attend the funeral.

France is collapsing in Africa. Not declining. Collapsing. And the most humiliating part is that Emmanuel Macron still believes he is De Gaulle reincarnated while the world sees him as the last caretaker of a dying imperial museum.
From Mali to Niger, from Burkina Faso to Guinea, from Chad to the tragedy of Ambazonia, France is watching its empire disintegrate in real time because it refuses to learn the one lesson that saved Britain when its empire fell: Respect the individual. Limit the power of the state. Build legitimacy through law, not force.
Britain lost an empire and kept global influence. France kept its empire and lost global respect.
Britain’s Empire Fell. Britain Walked Away with Honour. Britain’s strength after empire did not come from power. It came from principle. The common law system protected the individual from the excesses of the state. It created institutions that outlived colonialism. It built nations that could stand on their own feet. It produced credibility that the world still trusts today.
Former British colonies became: stable, democracies, investment magnets, credible partners, respected regional powers. Even those who condemn British colonialism still respect British jurisprudence. That is why London remains a global diplomatic hub. That is why British courts attract global cases. That is why the Commonwealth survives while Francafrique rots.
Britain’s legacy is the rule of law. France’s legacy is the rule of force.
France Cannot Replicate Britain’s Success. France cannot navigate its imperial collapse because France was never built to respect the individual. The French state worships centralised authority. The French presidency is a republican monarchy. The French administrative system exists to command, not to serve. France exported this model to its colonies. And the colonies are now vomiting it out.
Everywhere France touched is bleeding: military coups, currency instability, social uprisings, anti-French revolts, youth rejecting Francophonie governments collapsing under French supervision This is not Russian propaganda. This is not Chinese influence. This is not “anti-French sentiment.” This is France reaping the consequences of a century of arrogance.
France Wants Respect, but Respects Nobody
France demands gratitude while offering humiliation. France wants partnership while practising domination. France wants alliances while treating Africans like subordinates. This is why African states are cutting the cord: Mali expelled France. Niger expelled France. Burkina Faso expelled France. Guinea rejected France. Chad is drifting away. Guinea-Bissau is collapsing France’s last illusions. France still thinks Africa is a chessboard. Africa is saying it is a continent.
Ambazonia: The Final Door France Cannot Force Open
Ambazonia represents the ultimate humiliation France is afraid to face. France sponsored the illegal annexation of British Southern Cameroons because it needed one more province to add to its Francafrique zoo. France believed Ambazonians would bow. France believed English-speaking Africans would accept French supremacy. France believed Yaoundé’s brutality would silence the truth.
France miscalculated. Ambazonia refuses to die. Ambazonia refuses assimilation. Ambazonia refuses recolonisation. Ambazonia refuses the French empire at its last gasp. And here is the deeper wound: Ambazonia is built on British common law culture. Meaning Ambazonia will never be governed by French-style authoritarianism.
France cannot negotiate with Ambazonia because Ambazonia represents everything the French empire fears: government by consent, rights above decrees, law above order, people above the state. This is why France must keep surrogates like Issa Tchiroma shouting war. They know Ambazonia is the final crack in the edifice. Once Ambazonia goes, Francafrique collapses like termite-eaten wood.
Can France Ever Reach Britain’s Level of Global Respect? No. Not under the Fifth Republic. Not under this imperial mindset. Not under this self-worshipping state. Not under Macron.
Respect is earned through humility. France is allergic to humility. Respect is earned through law. France exports bureaucracy and bullets. Respect is earned through decentralisation. France worships vertical authority. Respect is earned through listening. France only speaks. France wants the world to admire it. The world is tired of its arrogance.
The End of the French Empire Will Not Be Graceful. Britain stepped down from empire and stepped up into global diplomacy. France will step down from empire and fall into geopolitical irrelevance.
Why? Because Britain understood that power is not in territory but in legitimacy. France still believes power comes from administrative dominance and military presence. France’s empire is ending with: burned embassies, expelled troops, collapsed alliances, angry youth, bankrupt political capital, and a reputation rotting from Niamey to Bamenda. This is not decline. This is disintegration.
Conclusion: The Final Warning
Macron still dreams of rebuilding Gaullist grandeur. Africa has already woken up. France cannot resurrect an empire that Africa has buried. Britain survived its fall because it respected the human person. France will not survive because it respects only the state. The empire is dead, but Macron refuses to attend the funeral.
