False Tongues, True Loyalties: Unmasking Betrayal in the Ambazonian Revolution

Paul Nilong and Kizito Elad not their origins but their actions are a betrayal

By Ali Dan Ismael | Editor-in-Chief, The Independentist

In every revolution, history warns us of traitors clothed in familiarity—individuals who speak our language, wear our symbols, but serve the interests of the oppressor. The Ambazonian revolution for self-determination is no exception. Two such figures, Paul Nillong and Kizito Elad, have drawn growing scrutiny not merely for their actions, but for how those actions betray the trust placed in them.

If the so-called state radio and television platform where Paul Nillong now spills his falsehood is not an agent of La République du Cameroun (LRC), then its management must act swiftly and terminate his involvement. That is not the voice of someone fighting for Ambazonia. But if he remains on air, then let the record show—we now have proof that these individuals, whose names no longer deserve the honor of repetition, are officially branded in Ambazonia as traitors. The home front is no longer sleeping. Our people are wired to discern deception.

The Case of Kizito Elad: When Diplomacy Becomes Disgrace
Hailing from Nkongsamba, deep within French Cameroon, Kizito Elad once served as Foreign Secretary under President Dr. Samuel Ikome Sako. Rather than building diplomatic bridges, Elad opted for a path of insults and antagonism. His list of targets includes:

Ambassador Tibor Nagy, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs

The U.S. Ambassador to Cameroon

Swiss mediators involved in peace facilitation

United Nations officials

Members of the Ambazonian Cabinet

And Dr. Ngassa, whom he defamed publicly—and lost a defamation suit over

Recently, Elad directed public insults at Dr. Martin Mungwa, simply because a message authored by Dr. Mungwa mentioned President Sako four times. The implication? That mentioning the leader of a government-in-exile was somehow dictatorial. But isn’t that the function of a Head of State—to lead and be referenced in the context of national communication?

Ironically, Elad’s criticism echoed the authoritarianism he claims to oppose. Instead of offering leadership or results, he continues to peddle bitterness, deflection, and distraction.

The Case of Paul Nillong: Asylum Won, Allegiance Lost
The betrayal of Paul Nillong is no less disturbing. Hailing from the Bassa region of French Cameroon, Nillong served as Media Outreach Coordinator for Defense Affairs in the Ambazonian Presidency. His appointment was officially confirmed by President Sako through an attestation dated April 29, 2024, which played a crucial role in securing for him asylum in Germany.

But rather than defend the revolution that protected him, Nillong turned on it. Reports suggest he had earlier misappropriated funds intended for the Ambazonian Restoration Forces (ARF) in Meme County, before fleeing abroad.

What’s more, his brother reportedly serves in the Cameroon military, and his twin brother is a Catholic priest with links to Francophone religious networks—a potential web of divided loyalties, if not outright conflict of interest.

But the final blow came in July 2025, when Nillong began circulating Paul Biya’s re-election campaign message, encouraging Cameroonians to sign up for a 10,000 FCFA cash handout by clicking a link. His message read:

“PRESIDENT PAUL BIYA 10,000 FCFA CASH TRANSFER FOR CAMEROONIANS.
Visit the link below and answer the questions. I just got mine.”
English: Click Here
French: Cliquez ici

Let us be very clear:
No one should open that link.
Doing so may mean you have just unknowingly voted for Paul Biya’s fraudulent regime—in exchange for a mere 10,000 francs. This is not only manipulation. It is electoral entrapment.

Who is fooling who?

This is no longer mere suspicion. It is now evidence: Paul Nillong is acting as a French Cameroonian agent, using our language and former title as cover to promote the same regime that has murdered over 60,000 of our people, displaced a million others, and burned our villages to the ground.

Loyalty Is Not Linguistic
Let us draw a clear line: Ambazonia does not judge anyone based on where they were born or the language they speak. Our revolution has been blessed by friends and supporters from around the world—some from Cameroon, some from the diaspora, and many who do not share our accent.

But loyalty is proven by action, not declared in words.

Just because someone speaks English—or some version of it—does not make them Ambazonian. The revolution has seen true patriots from our coast and savannah. But it has also seen infiltrators—wolves in sheep’s clothing—who speak like us but serve Yaoundé’s interests.

A Word of Caution
This is not a call for tribalism or ethnic suspicion. It is a call for vigilance. Ambazonia is a home for all who fight for her. But those who betray the revolution—who lie, steal, and collaborate with the enemy—must be called what they are.

Traitors.

Let the world know: in Ambazonia, we forgive mistakes—but we will not protect betrayal.

Conclusion
As Ambazonia rises from the ashes of genocide, it must be built not just with courage, but with truth, discipline, and moral clarity. This revolution is not for sale—not for 10,000 francs, not for favors, not for false promises.

Whether you’re from Buea, Bamenda, Nkongsamba or Bassa, the true test of belonging is loyalty, not location.

Let us speak less of where people come from…
And more of what they stand for.
