CAMEROUN’S MINISTER OF HEALTH REFUSES TO ENDORSE SICKEL CELL CURE BY RESEARCHER,DR RAPHEAL NITCHEU
It is often said that in Africa because of western mafia and influences, we often neglect our own and turn to the “white man” for solutions. The man below is a researcher and inventor by name Raphael Nitcheu, founder of Drepanovax, a drug which is said to be a cure of the sickel cell, an illness declared incurable by the World Health Organisation.
His efforts to meet Cameroun’s Minister of health, Andre Mama has been fruitless as the latter showed no interest in granting him an audience despite his life saving project and he is convinced government is not interested in endorsing his initiative. This is not strange given the fact that the late Professor Anoma Ngu’s efforts in curing AIDS, with the invention of Valivax wasn’t given attention and it remains a shadow.

Rapheal Nitcheu, Sickle Cell Researcher
Sickel Cell Anemia is a group of blood disorder typically inherited from a parent, it results in an abnormality in the oxygen-carrying protein haemoglobin. This leads to a number of health problems such as attacks of pain, anemia, swelling in the hands and feet, bacterial infection and stroke. This illness has claimed the lives of many persons from the Cameroons and Africans at large. In a country where the Ministry Of Health spends billions of francs CFA importing drugs rather than promoting life saving inventions such as Drepanovax, then there is a problem.
We at Independentist News think that the Minister should offer the researcher the audience needed, set up a committee to study his proposal and even work with him to promote him at the global stage. This is what nations do, they invest in their scientists, get them be the inventors of new technology. Won’t Cameroun be happy if its on the world map as the country which produces the first drug in curing sickle cell? African governments must learn to invest in their scientists, belief in them and help them be at a global stage
