When your elite troops are fleeing to Europe… When your state cannot protect itself… When your army fears its own future… That country is not a functioning republic. It is a regime in slow-motion disintegration.

Across the world, a dangerous game is unfolding — and the children of Cameroon are the pawns. Hundreds of soldiers from La République du Cameroun are deserting their posts, abandoning the corrupt, cash-strapped Biya regime. Some are being lured by Russia with promises of high pay on the battlefields of Ukraine. Others quietly slip into France and join the Foreign Legion — another European power with a long history of exploiting African blood for European wars. Two rival empires. One decaying dictatorship in Yaoundé. And once again — African lives on the frontlines of foreign interests.
Why are they leaving?
Because the Biya regime cannot pay its own soldiers or protect its own borders. Because corruption eats the budget meant for the military.
Because young men see no future guarding a failed state that abuses its people while begging for foreign handouts. When an army runs away from its own country, it means that country is collapsing.
France and Russia — Different Flags, Same Exploitation
France still treats Cameroon as a colony without the paperwork. Russia treats Cameroon as a reservoir of expendable manpower. Both powers know Biya is weak. Both exploit that weakness for their geopolitical games. Cameroonian youth are being shipped off to fight and die in freezing trenches — for a war that is not theirs. And Biya’s government does nothing but print denials and arrest anyone who tries to leave with a passport and uniform.
Why this matters to Ambazonians
Every soldier who leaves the French-Cameroon military is one less tool of oppression in Ambazonia. This shift is strategic. It is significant.
It is an opportunity. Yaoundé is currently fighting too many battles: Pirates and rebels in the East Boko Haram and ISIS on the northern front Biafran self-determination in the Bakassi region. Total collapse in its own political center. Ambazonian liberation forces in the West
When your elite troops are fleeing to Europe… When your state cannot protect itself… When your army fears its own future… That country is not a functioning republic. It is a regime in slow-motion disintegration.
Ambazonia’s Moment
Instead of desperation, the Ambazonian nation should recognize what this means: The chain is breaking. The empire is bleeding. The balance of power is shifting. Ambazonia must push harder — politically, diplomatically, militarily — because history shows: Independence is won when the oppressor becomes too weak to continue oppression.
A Call for Clarity
This is not about cheering for Russia or France. Both have used African bodies for their ambitions. This is about positioning Ambazonia to finally reclaim its land, its dignity, and its destiny. The world is changing. Cameroon is collapsing. And Ambazonia must be ready to rise.
