It has been a long drawn social media quarrel with a cameroonian – Nigerian international business woman and artist Denicia, that ended in a law suit in the swiss courts, pronouncing Cameroons presidencial daughter Brenda Biya guilty of defamation, slander and insults.
Because of a dispute over the authorisation of beauty products, Brenda Biya is known to have insulted Denicia on social media, calling her a “scammer”, a “dope dealer” and a “lil coke whore”. The singer sued the president’s daughter in Geneva, and Brenda was found guilty of defamation, slander and insult.
In due course of the trial, According to Swissinfo.ch, a penal order was signed by the Attorney General Olivier Jornot,
requesting the Cameroonian first daughter to list her sources of income, as it was revealed that she has been living in the Intercontinental Hotel where a suite costs €40,800 per night (26.2 million FCFA).
According to the investigation, these costs, as well as those of his father Paul Biya, would be covered by the Cameroonian public treasury, All Africa revealed in a report.
During the proceedings, Brenda confirmed that she has been frequenting the hotel since she was 12.
According to the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), “President Paul Biya spends nearly $177 million on his private stays in Geneva between 1982 and 2018.”
“This was long suspected to be the case and has now been confirmed,” says Pilet, calling it a scandal. “It can be assumed that the hotel stays are paid for from the Cameroonian state coffers; just like the Geneva visits of President Paul Biya, which have long been publicly known.”- Swissinfo.ch wrote
Paul Biya is the President of Cameroon for 42 years now, age 92, and a potential candidate for Presidential elections previewed in the month of October .
