Dear editor,

In reaction to your recently published article on how President Amadou Ahidjo stole the future of Cameroon, I will differ from your viewpoint.

When we look at how the French secret services have run their colonies, you’ll see how helpless their puppets have always been before their masters.

Ahidjo was handpicked to thwart the true fighters for the independence of their trust territory. Ahidjo did not participate in the fight but because he had influence in the north of Cameroun, he was propulsed to power by the French on condition that he was going to be their yes man.

He grew to understand that he was not a free man and started seeking his own ways to liberate himself and the country he governed. He developed the economy and made speeches in favor of the federation until George’s pompidou the French president ordered him to change the constitution in 1972.

When he embarked on creating companies out of the French sphere of influence like pulling out of Air Afrique to create the Cameroon airlines and also created the Cameroon shipping lines. This annoyed the French very badly because Ahidjo was achieving economic independence which they didn’t like. He dodged the debt trap of the IMF and WORLD BANK shark loans and instead got loans from the Islamic banks for his country.

The French then tricked him that he had a terminal disease and would best give up power in favor of Biya whom they had been grooming in the shadows whilst deceiving the Co partners in the union that the president of the national assembly was the constitutional successor. He was forced to change that position so quickly and Biya became his constitutional successor. He was a bloody dictator though but had the love for his country and that was why he readily accepted his health certificate as issued by the French and left power on that false premise.

Paul Biya inherited a sound and healthy economy but like Ahidjo he was equally cornered by his French masters. When he took over power he promised the Cameroonian populace that he was going to follow the footsteps of his illustrious predecessor and that since his predecessor didn’t fail he too would follow suit. He said he was not going to the world bank and or the IMF for loans. This did not augur well for his French handlers who decided to teach him a lesson in obeying the master’s will.

They staged the coup d’etat in 1984 claiming that it was Ahidjo who did it. That way they got the northern elite who had served under Ahidjo eliminated in cold blood. Ahidjo himself disclaimed having carried out the coup and said if he were concerned he would have won. He then described Biya in the following terms “un faux, faube et faible” an untruthful, unreliable weakling.

These epithets truly described the person of Biya because after the French formented coup, he now bowed to all French demands. He was forced to adopt the structural adjustment plan as prescribed by his masters, took the IMF and World bank loans, sold all the lucrative companies set by Ahidjo and plunged the country into the irremediable chaos in which it has found itself. Ahidjo was forced to resign because he was lied to as being terminally ill but look at Biya who is visibly mentally incapacitated and is managed like a robot.

The French won’t tell him to resign like they did Ahidjo. Guess why, because he’s giving them all that they need in order to be maintained in power. He’s not a patriot like Ahidjo he would have long gone after losing elections to John Fru Ndi in 1992. His masters asked him to stay put which he did but by so doing they paved the way for the people of the southern Cameroons to gun for their separate existence.

Both Ahidjo and Biya had no choices before the French because like it is said in this cliche, you don’t bite the finger that feeds you.

The barest truth is that la République du Cameroun is not yet independent and we of the southern Cameroons were tricked to have gotten married to a minor without the true consent of her parent the UN.

The union was therefore a nullity because of several flaws the biggest one being that they had signed an immoral contractual relationship with France which barred them from any other union with third parties without the French fiat. And to continue as a colony despite the lie of independence.

They are now trying to forge another succession strategy that makes it clear to all right thinking people that they are indeed not an independent people.

Ambazonia is gone for good.
