POST ELECTION CRISIS IN CAMEROON: A Pastoral Message from Bishop Dr. Pius Inobuh Bah, Visionary and Founder, Revive Christian Church International, Limbe – Cameroon

No one loves this nation more than another; the difference lies in motive. Some love Cameroon for the benefits they receive; others love her from a pure heart. That is why we now see individuals — even some pastors, bishops, and prophets — defending evil publicly. This is shameful.

A Call to Conscience and Courage

I speak today as a voice within this nation — as a Bishop of the Church of God, burdened by love for my people and my Fatherland. The Church cannot remain silent in the face of impending danger, injustice, manipulation, intimidation, and human degradation.

Fellow Cameroonians, there has never been a time like this — a time when our collective action is so urgently needed to rescue our people and this nation from years of painful neglect and misery. The moment to stand up and defend the voice of the people is now.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu once said, “Silence is siding with the oppressor,” and he reminded us that “The Church is the voice of the voiceless.” It would be a tragedy if the Church in Cameroon fails to rise and make her voice heard at such a defining moment in our history.

Yes, silence often comes from fear — fear for one’s life, fear of losing comfort, or fear of placing one’s ministry in the spotlight against the powers that be. But I ask:
If we remain silent now, will we ever speak again?
If we cannot raise our voices for justice today, will we ever be able to speak against evil tomorrow?

A Nation in Pain

Are we not all feeling the suffering of the people?
Are we not weary of endless price hikes, inflation, and the crushing debts that our children and grandchildren will inherit — even as we remain uncertain about how those debts were incurred?

The recent election has exposed the deep wounds of our nation — the fraud, intimidation, and threats that accompanied it. We have seen brutality and destruction, including the burning of properties meant for the common good. These are not acts of rebellion; they are signs of a people frustrated beyond endurance.

Cameroonians are tired — painfully tired. Our beloved nation has become a subject of ridicule across the world. There was a time when we travelled abroad with pride, proudly declaring, “I am a Cameroonian.” Today, I confess with sorrow that I feel shame instead of pride.

The people have spoken. The cry of the masses is clear: “Enough is enough.”

Truth, Not Betrayal

No one loves this nation more than another; the difference lies in motive. Some love Cameroon for the benefits they receive; others love her from a pure heart. That is why we now see individuals — even some pastors, bishops, and prophets — defending evil publicly. This is shameful.

For Christ’s sake, can we not tell the truth we know?

I love my nation, Cameroon, and I refuse to sell her for thirty pieces of silver.
I will not be a Judas to my beloved country.

A Plea for Justice and Peace

On behalf of the Body of Christ in Cameroon, as an ordained Bishop, I call for righteousness and justice to prevail. As we await the Constitutional Council’s final proclamation, we remind the nation that we are not ignorant of the people’s choice — the one for whom the majority have clearly voted.

It would be a national tragedy if the Constitutional Council were to declare a result contrary to the will of the people. Cameroon cannot afford another cycle of deception and bloodshed. Demonstrations have already begun, and if justice is not done, the consequences could be dire.

As a Bishop of the Church of God, I say NO to intimidation, NO to injustice, and NO to bloodshed.

Where Do You Stand?

To every Cameroonian, I ask:
On whose side are you — the side of truth or the side of injustice?
Do you love this nation, or do you remain silent because you are benefiting from its decay?

Some who know the truth have chosen to defend falsehood. But judgment begins with the house of God, and conscience cannot be silenced forever.

I stand on the side of Truth, Justice, and Genuine Love for my beloved country, Cameroon.
Those who know me know that I cannot remain silent in the face of oppression — not now, not ever.

Truth must be spoken to power. Love for our nation must rise above personal interest.
This time around, Cameroon must be free.

Peace be upon our land.

Bishop Dr. Pius Inobuh Bah
