THE MAN THEY COULDN’T SILENCE: Dr. Sako and the Battle for Ambazonian Sovereignty

Dr. Sako joined the Interim Government (IG) of Ambazonia as an outsider, responding to personal persuasion by Sisiku Ayuk Tabe. Prior to this, he was widely known in activist circles as #Dr_Commonsense, an unapologetically bold voice, yet he had never participated in any Conclave or internal IG structuring.

Just two months into his entry, Sisiku Ayuk Tabe and members of his IG cabinet were abducted in Nigeria. In the emergency leadership election that followed, senior figures like Chris Anu (infamously nicknamed “Bucket Mouth”) and Bobga Harmony contested the presidency. Bobga received zero votes, Chris Anu received one, and Dr. Sako swept the ballot with unanimous support. While Bobga exited the movement, Chris Anu vowed to remain and destroy Sako from within.

On assuming leadership, Dr. Sako found only $5,000 in the treasury. The once-booming Citizenship Levy funds and all international donations gathered during Sisiku’s world tour had vanished. The treasury had been managed by Brado Tabenyang (Sisiku’s brother) and Helen Akonji (Sisiku’s high school girlfriend).

There was no credible defense structure in Ambazonia. The so-called Department of Defense (DoD), created under Sisiku and Milan, was a complete smokescreen. Worse still, SCBC, long hailed as the people’s TV station, was in fact a private venture owned by Sisiku and Milan, misrepresenting itself to draw funds from Ambazonians. Dr. Sako dismantled the fake DoD, gradually exposing and phasing out the SCBC scam. The culprits behind these frauds regrouped under banners like SCOOP and APNC, launching a campaign titled “Sako Must Go”. But they failed to remove him.

Dr. Sako uncovered a secret arrangement where Sisiku’s team planned to pay $1 million to a classmate-turned-lobbyist, Mr. Elango, in exchange for supposed international recognition. This was another elaborate fraud: demonstrations were staged to mask the sharing of funds, while the people of Ambazonia were being massacred without any defense mechanism.

In response, Dr. Sako abolished all scams and established the Ambazonia Restoration Forces (ARF). He launched the My Trip To Buea (MTTB) initiative to fund a legitimate defense force. Yet, internal saboteurs from the disbanded DoD and “Sako Must Go” operatives like Nso Foncha, Chebs, and Celeste embezzled MTTB funds meant for the frontline. Their ultimate goal: undermine Sako’s credibility so the people would turn against him.

Determined to uphold transparency, Dr. Sako initiated a National Audit. But Sisiku instructed Brado and Helen Akonji to obstruct the process. Nonetheless, thirteen auditors from all 13 counties conducted a rigorous 40-day audit. The final report, professionally presented by Dr. Martin Mungwa and supervised by the late Shey Francis, then Head of Government Ethics, showed:

¼ of MTTB funds were spent locating the missing Nera 10.

¼ sustained SCBC’s questionable operations.

½ went into the hands of saboteurs instead of the fighters.

Dr. Sako had never taken a salary, unlike Sisiku, and was not implicated in any financial misconduct. During this time, the late Eyembe Elango, Chief of Staff of the breakaway IG-Care, emerged and deepened political rivalry. A sinister plot to abduct Dr. Sako in South Africa, disguised as a peace plan titled “Plan B”, was narrowly thwarted when he cancelled the trip.

In 2019, under pressure from Brigadier General Emile Bamkoui and instructions from Yaoundé, Sisiku attempted to dismiss Dr. Sako from behind bars. This move followed Bobga’s failed APNC coup. The plan was clear: remove Sako and install a negotiator more receptive to a “One Cameroon” solution. However, the Ambazonian people resisted. They refused leadership from a prisoner and instead removed the compromised Sisiku. The Sako Must Go campaign failed again.

In a further turn, Chris Anu’s mother was abducted by Bamkoui’s military intelligence, and a deal was brokered: help Yaoundé bring down Sako in exchange for his family’s release.

Chris Anu hijacked ABC TV, turning it into his personal business. He pocketed satellite contributions, placing himself on a $2,500 monthly salary, and hired ghost workers. Despite collecting funds to build an app, no product was ever delivered. Sako, alarmed, established a Board of Directors to recover ABC. Sensing loss of control, Chris Anu launched a mutiny.

Chris plotted assassination attempts in Ghana and Addis Ababa, both of which Sako evaded by declining travel.

Chris began assembling dissenters within the IG to stage a political coup.

Chris presented a suspicious deal from a supposed CDC investor, later exposed as a La République agent. Sako rejected the trap immediately.

After the successful launch of the 2020 DRAFT, Chris, John Egyawan, and Abongwa brought two shady defense supply deals—from an “Alhadjl” in Angola and another “Alhadjl” in Gambia/Liberia. Dr. Sako assigned Abongwa to manage the second, and $135,000 was siphoned from the IG. When counties demanded refunds, Chris Anu blamed the supplier as a scammer. The real motive was once again to sabotage Sako’s leadership.

Chris then rallied renegades in the defunct Restoration Council, including Kometa, Christencia Asong, Dr. Epah, Richard Tangu Yengo, and some corrupt county officials to fabricate charges against Dr. Sako. They failed again. Sako demanded evidence, which has never surfaced.

The final agenda now is to remove Dr. Sako from the negotiation table, as requested by LRC, and install a bush-based puppet regime on Ground Zero. They are willing to destroy the Ambazonian dream rather than let Sako succeed.

The so-called “Marianta Government”, their alternative structure, has completely failed, much to the disappointment of Etoudi. Their final card is to survive court proceedings and physically eliminate Dr. Sako. But God has made Dr. Sako a pillar of Ambazonia’s liberation, a man they simply could not silence.

Enter the French Connection. During the height of diplomatic and military pressure, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Biafran secessionist movement, approached Dr. Sako with praise and admiration, presenting himself as a Pan-African revolutionary ally. Kanu offered to provide funding to support Ambazonia’s resistance efforts. However, the true motive soon became clear—what was sought was not simply partnership, but a formal bank account under the Ambazonian leadership. Unbeknownst to many, this was part of a broader French intelligence operation designed to launder illicit funds through Ambazonian channels. Once done, France would incriminate Dr. Sako and label the movement as a terrorist organization in international financial and diplomatic circles.

Smelling a rat, Dr. Sako acted with caution. He provided a neutral account—completely unconnected to the struggle—to test the sincerity of the offer. The trap failed. Kanu never fulfilled his financial promise, and the fraudulent scheme collapsed. Once again, Dr. Sako had outwitted a covert international plot, preserving the moral and legal integrity of the Ambazonian liberation movement.
